2023 was a spectacular year for the Foundation! We held wonderful events at the Eisenhower Chapel, the jewel of the neighborhood, including a family festival, two guest speaker events, and two performances by musicians from the Colorado Symphony. At our annual bike tune-up event, 120 people received a free bike tune-up from HopeCycle. We collaborated with partners in July to produce Lowry’s first Independence parade and festival. In August, we launched the Lowry Art + Architecture Loop, a 4-mile walking and biking loop featuring Lowry’s historic buildings and public art. Our Silver Ropes Volunteer Corps was busy all year, putting in 500 volunteer hours!
Thank you to those who attended, volunteered, and sponsored the events to celebrate our 25th jubilee this year!! Thanks to our 2023 Star Partner, Clark’s Market, for helping us make it happen.
Now that 2024 is upon us, it’s time to share exciting news about what you can expect from this small but mighty non-profit serving the Lowry area community. In January, we will welcome a new Chair of the Board, Kittie Hook, to the helm, and officers of the Board will be elected in January (more on this in February).
Our first event of the year will be on January 18, kicking off the Speaker Series and setting the wheels in motion to provide the community with educational, inspiring, and creative activities at the Eisenhower Chapel. Keep an eye on our Event Calendar for more information.
Three of the four art projects are still installed to visit along the Lowry Art + Architecture Loop (Crescent Park, Lowry Open Space at the Dog Park, and west Great Lawn Park). Walk, bike, or run today! Art + Architecture tours will be announced on our social media and Event Calendar.
Our Lowry partners will be offering amazing sights and sounds in Lowry this year, too, so watch for activities on the Lowry Community Calendar. To learn more about some of Lowry’s service organizations, visit the One Lowry website.
