20 students created art for the Art + Architecture Loop!
Coming soon to Bayaud Park, 7700 E. Bayaud Ave, Denver, CO 80230.
The week of June 12, the Eisenhower Chapel was turned into an art studio for Elementary and Middle School students.
About the Art Project
Elementary and Middle School students were invited to participate in a free community art-making project and offered a gift card for participating. During a three-day camp-style workshop, lead artist Keri Deixler worked with the students to complete an individual artwork when put together, will form a cohesive public art installation. Students created their own heritage flag depicting and celebrating their unique personality, culture, background, affinities, and/or customs. The project will be displayed in Bayaud Park, 7700 E. Bayaud Avenue, for three months or more (weather depending) and honored with an official ribbon cutting in late summer. We will offer guided and self-guided tours of the Lowry Art + Architecture Loop for the community to enjoy and get some exercise while enjoying our creative community!
Artist Keri Deixler will lead the Elementary School and Middle School students in this project to create public art for Bayaud Park. Keri is a N.E. As a graduate of the University of Kansas in Journalism/Advertising, she is midway through her MFA in Illustration.
