Please join the Lowry Speaker Series on Wednesday, September 18 when we host Dr. Claire Oberon Garcia: Former Colorado State Historian, PhD, Professor of English at Colorado College, Former Dean, and Woman of Distinction. As James Baldwin said, “The force of history comes from the fact that we carry it within us, are unconsciously controlled by it in so many ways, and history is literally presented in all that we do”. Through looking at aspects of her own life and career, Dr. Garcia will encourage a conversation about the connections among history, individual lived experiences, and the promises of democracy.
