Lowry’s Independence Parade & Festival July 1
July 1, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
The Lowry Foundation and Hangar Club present Lowry’s first Independence Parade and Festival in partnership with Lowry United Neighborhoods (LUN) and sponsored by Clark’s Market, Lowry Community Master Association (LCMA), Boulevard One, and Donor Alliance.
Saturday, July 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Great Lawn Park, 101 Yosemite Street. This fun-filled, family-oriented event is sure to bring smiles to faces of all ages. As part of the celebration, we have organized various activities.
Community Parade coordinated by Lowry United Neighborhoods
Parade Lineup at the playground starts 9:00 a.m. SHARP at the Great Lawn Park playground (come early for free decorations). Ride or walk in the one-mile community parade around Great Lawn Park! Prizes for the best costumes (people and pets) and the best-decorated bikes, wagons, and strollers will be awarded. Costumed characters will join us in the procession, and we are looking for a marching band. Please be in touch with staff to help us find a marching band!
Festival in the Park 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Music stage sponsored by Donor Alliance
After the parade, enjoy a family picnic while watching live music by Better Sensory Perception (BSP is kind of like Bob Marley meets Prince at a Carlos Santana Concert with George Clinton D.J’ing!) Local business vendors will meet and greet the public; food trucks will be on-site with brunch and drinks (cash or card); and there will be lawn games! Stay until noon, and Denver Fire Crew and Fire Truck Tour.
Parking
Please walk or ride a bike to this event, as parking is limited. Some parking will be available at Big Bear Ice (thanks, Big Bear!), and there is limited street parking within the park road, Willow Circle.
