Willie E. Shepherd is a seasoned and well-respected lawyer recognized for his expertise in the areas of real estate and commercial transactional issues, development, and construction matters, public-private partnerships (P3), energy, regulatory and administrative, land use and zoning, and litigation matters. He has represented many Fortune 500 companies, as well as small- to medium-sized enterprises, regarding a variety of complex issues. Willie has worked on the redevelopment of the former Stapleton International Airport, the Lowry Air Force Base redevelopment, the Denver Convention Center Hotel Project and the Denver Art Museum, and many other public-private partnerships. He has negotiated various contracts, agreements, Administrative Orders, and Memoranda of Understanding with a variety of state and federal agencies.
Willie received a Juris Doctorate from Tulane University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at Austin. His admissions and professional associations include Admitted in Colorado, U.S. District Court Colorado, 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, Member, Colorado and Denver Bar Associations, and Fellow, American Bar, and Colorado Bar Foundations.
He is active in the community, serving on the Denver Metro Chamber Foundation and Chamber of Commerce. and the Colorado Symphony Board. He was named one of Denver’s Top Attorneys in the Denver Business Journal (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004). Willie received the Martin Luther King, Jr. Social Responsibility Award in 2008.
