New date TBD. \nThe Lowry Foundation is pleased to offer the second film in its 2020 Lowry Foundation Film Series at the historic Eisenhower Chapel. \nOn Wednesday\, March 18\, 2020\, and Saturday\, March 21\, 2020\, we will offer a family-friendly collection of outdoor adventure films from the 5Point Adventure Film Festival which is held in Carbondale\, CO each April. \nFeaturing an assortment of short documentaries – including biking\, skiing\, watersports and running – these stories are perfect for students\, families\, and adventurous adults who love the outdoors. The same collections of films will be shown at each event. \nThe 5Point Film is built on five guiding principles: respect\, commitment\, humility\, purpose\, and balance.  For more info about the 5Point Film click here  https://5pointfilm.org/about-5point \nStories of adventure have the power to ignite positive change in our communities and our world.  Through adventure\, we find our best selves and encourage those around us to do the same. DESCRIPTION:The Lowry Foundation is launching a new Film Series in 2020!\nOur first film is the “Reluctant Radical” on January 29 at 7pm.\nTickets are $10 adults\, $5 for children under 12. \nGet your tickets here. \nTHE RELUCTANT RADICAL is a documentary film that follows activist and Oregon resident Ken Ward as he confronts his fears and puts himself in the direct path of the fossil fuel industry in an effort to combat climate change. The film reveals both the personal costs and also the fulfillment that comes from following one’s moral calling– even if that means breaking the law. Audiences may not always agree with Ken’s actions\, but his perspective and urgency promote discussion and introspection about whether any of us are doing what is needed to avert the environmental catastrophe at our doorstep. This is a film that engages both our hearts and minds\, fostering dialogue\, reflection and engagement. \nThe filmmaker\, Lindsey Grayzel\, will be in attendance and will be available for a brief presentation following the film. \nThe subject matter and opinions expressed in this presentation may be considered controversial to some.\nThe Lowry Foundation does not take a position on any of the subjects or opinions expressed herin.
